Samsung galaxy S2?( Probably a easy question?)?

Okay my sister and I have the EXACT same phone and when people type emojis on their instagram bios ( just the black ones, no colored emojis lol.) I cannot see it on my phone but my little sister can..? My cousin recently updated my galaxy s2, so i dont understand why i cant see them.
*Also my sister has NO keyboard apps.
*I checked the updates too. We both have the same update.
