Instagram isn't letting me log in?

I've tried everything, but it says "Sorry,we couldn't connect to the log in server. Please confirm you have an internet connection and try again."
I do have internet.
I closed and opened the app again,uninstalled and installed again,restarted my device,but nothing is working.
Is instagram down?

It's down. I read online that it might have something to do with a criminal investigation with a user's account, but that might just be a rumor.
