I know it is old, but it is all I have for now. I know there are many issues with Vista, but other than Google Chrome, what should I use. I had promblems with Firefox, Safari and IE9, Opera was O.K.

Well google chrome is my first choice, firefox is second. It looks like you've had issues with about every decent browser out there, no doubt a vista problem. Browsers aren't really updating for vista anymore or making sure it works properly as they're trying to leave that OS in the past and get people to upgrade.

You are going to have issues with all because If you are using Vista it means your laptop is very old (and slow) if you check task manager/processes most probably you laptop will be running 100% most of the time

Vista is bad - you need to downgrade to XP or upgrade laptop to take Win7

You might first want to check what is currently running (in task manager/processes) to see if you can end them and maybe stop them starting at bootup

After that - when did you last take time to spring clean?
Filehippo updater - remove from startup after installing
CNet Download App - remove from startup after installing
CCleaner
Wise Reg Cleaner (it also has optimisation tool use it
Wise Disk Cleaner (it has slimming tool use it but uncheck wallpaper and help)
Mydefrag (system disk monthly - run it at least 2 times to get the best)

All the above will help you laptop boot up easier and free up processing time for others

Time to do all about 4/5 hours but you will see improvement
