facebook - is it really safe?
I came across a profile of the main man to contact as the organiser TV awards ceremony which is due to take place in a few months on FACEBOOK .to find out more information about tickets- he sent me a note back saying that the tickets will be £200 but he is only accepting cheques and cash as the internet site is down- he have me his telephone number - i checked on the site and the marketing dept is different from his number ( which is no biggie).
I dont feel comfortable with this because i fear that someone could have put his picture up and created an account posing as this person. I have since asked if their is a box office i can go to to purchase the tickets in person , bt yet to recieve a reply My question is doesnt Facebook check on people who sets up profiles ? because i want to go to the awards bt at the same time very sketical as to whether this person is geunine Please advise? thanks guys Ads |

facebook doesn't have time to screen every single profile. why don't YOU do a little searching and call BOTH numbers?

Personally there's no way I'd hand cash over to anyone on Facebook. No - they don't monitor the site - its for social networking, not retail and thus they don't have any responsiblity towards you.
Get the tickets elsewhere |

I wouldn't trust it and no respectable business asks for cash.
