What can i do to get more traffic to my blog?

I am wanting more honest cost free traffic, and have had difficulty building it. What am i doing wrong, what can i do to get a following?

Noticed a couple things, the social icon for your facebook page is not set up nor is your Chitika ads links.

Have you tried
1. Joining fiction reader sites and adding your site link
2. Commenting on other blogs that might appeal to readers of the kinds of writing you do
3. Offer to guest blog on another popular blog on topics related to your site.

You won't have to pay for traffic, but you will have to put in the work to get people to your site.
