How can I speed up internet while having utorrent open?

I have the latest version of utorrent and I've been downloading all 6 seasons of LOST for a couple of months, and it has reached 50%. The thing is, whenever I need to use the internet and have utorrent open, even google takes forever to load, so I have to exit utorrent everytime I use the internet. Is there a way I can use both at the same time? Thanks in advance!

torrent apps use a lot of bandwidth,since it has taken this long to download only half of this series,I would have to say you connection sounds pretty slow anyway.Not much you can do without upgrading your internet service to higher speeds
