Popups and Slow videos?

I have a new laptop (about a month old). I recently had an update for windows 8.1...with that came A LOT of popups and I can't watch videos without them stopping or the quality of the show I'm watching...What can I do? At first the videos weren't playing at all but with google chrome they are at least showing a little bit. Please help. Thanks

You need to reset your pop-up blockers.As far as the video stopping,you need to check your connection and be sure older systems are not running on your new 8.1 at the same time.
Run a tune up to see if something is slowing things.
I had a lot of weird problems when I first started windows 8 and took a while to straighten them out.
