Whether it's worth going on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc.?

I hear perhaps 1.25bn people use Facebook, my friends say to me I must try it, but why would one use these sites, I haven't got anything to say. I even have a Facebook page but it's blank.

If you don't want to, then I say no, it is not worth it. Social media can become a major time sucker that is mindless entertainment. On the flip side, it can also be a great resource for great content, quality engagement, etc. But if you don't want it, I can pretty much guarantee it's not going to be worth it for you.
