How are some ways I can advertise?

I am up for babysitting, making jewelry, sewing purses and stuff like that, but I need a way to advertise in my area other than signs. Summer is coming up and it would be a good way to make money and save up for a digital camera. All help appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Make business cards instead of flyers and hand them out to every one you see...business cards are cheaper to make than flyers if you make them at home(because you can put a bunch on one sheet)
