I cant connect to some websites?
For some reason i cant connect to some websites and get the "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to..." error even though I'm connected to the internet, and i know the sites are up because i asked a friend on Teamspeak to try it. I've searched everywhere and nothing has worked, I've tried the sites with Google chrome and Firefox and neither work. I'm running windows 8.

Two of them are Hearthpwn.com and MMO-Champion.com. Thanks for any answers.

well i know some gaming websites are pretty racist now adays
it like it forbids your country from loading it.
so if your friend is same country as you and they could work it out it should be problem with your computer.
if not its your network.
i lived in singapore both websites work for me

Hi Kyle,
You may want to try this link, it has to do with DNS Fetching in Google Chrome.

http://www.ghacks.net/2010/06/26/fix-oop...to-errors/

You said "some" websites, so you have connectivity to other sites like msn.com or google.com and this site as well?

Aside from this, I know you said you are certain the sites are up...
However, from your PC, have you tried pinging the sites using Windows command line (Start > Run > cmd > enter) and then Ping http://www.whatever.com?

Have you verified the status of the Local Area Network Adapter in windows control panel ?

Have you power-cycled your cable modem and router and rebooted your workstation one time?

You can flush the dns resolver cache too, that sometimes helps.
...(command line) and then type "ipconfig -flushdns" {enter}

Have you completely cleared all cookies and browser data from Chrome?
...Click the "Customize and control Google Chrome" button (has three horizontal stripes) then select Settings, then click "show advanced settings", then Clear Browsing Data"

Good luck, I know windows 8 can be loads of fun (kidding) because Microsoft seems to think they know what we want to click on next and throw hurdles in our way.

Hope this helps.

Did you have google toolbar installed? If so disable " show suggestion" in setting. Google chrome may have the same feature. Even you have site up running but the site may send 404 error by mistake. Most 404 error can be corrected or redirect to page not found page in the site. However google is taking advantage of this error and redirect you to google. Both sites are working from safari.
