What is my skype name?

I just created a new Skype account using a gmail address.

At no stage have I been told a skype name.

The name at the top of my profile page is simply my first name.
Abdulnabim - you answer is no help at all. My gmail account uses my real name and my real name is certainly not my skype name - for example, my real name has a space "John Smith". Johnsmith is not my skype name. John Smith is not my skype name. John is not my skype name. johnsmith@gmail.com is not my skype name.

Your Skype name is shown on the uppest line of program window - it is SKYPE TM - "YOUR_USERNAME"

There is a username recovery option also.

if you follow the signup,
it automatically creates a name (at the bottom)
and if you don't change it, then that remains your name.
