is it possible to make decent money selling avon or similar products?
ive been out of work and one of the things ive considered is stuff like sales but ive had a hard time since my knee surgery and wasnt sure about doing a lot of walking so ive been putting it off but now im feeling a lot better since ive had a cortisone shot done almost 2 wks ago so ive been wondering if its worth trying to get into one of those, my rent is real cheap cause im living in hud housing so coming up with the rent money would be easy and if my rent went up cause of selling avon it wouldnt be a problem cause it wouldnt go up unless i was making money, so can someone like me make decent money just selling avon? wondered if i could create a job for myself doing that

It really depends on the area and the number of other reps in that area. It can be tough and it will not be a steady income. Some months will be better than others. You can get a lot on online sales and not even have to do much but advertise, or you will have to go from one place to another doing parties. It is not as easy as it sounds, but it can be fun.

I wouldn't consider it a good income but it can supplement depending on how many people you know that will buy from you. I have a friend that goes to a certain church and whenever one of my groups has a raffle or is selling anything, she can sell a houseful. I sold Holiday Magic years ago and it was an excellent line of makeup. They gave me a neighborhood and it was full of people who had just gotten married or who had just bought a house and were basically broke and could not afford the makeup. I ended up using the stuff I had bought myself. If it was still out there I would buy it today but I wouldn't want to try to make a living selling it again.

if you can put in a lot of hours (over 50 a week) at the beginning for a couple months to establish yourself, yes, but be careful there could be others selling in your 'area'???

Hi Pearl
That's a pyramid kind of job. I can tell you because I was with Amway for some time and it didn't work out for me. I couldn't get customers and these pyramid jobs is a good way to loose money, instead of making it.

Nope - try selling items on eBay.

Hi Pearl,

If you love the product and believe in yourself and have a great inner circle of friends and family that will help you get referrals - that would be a great start!! When I started with Scentsy almost three years ago I asked everyone BEFORE I joined if they would want to purchase it, have parties, etc.

You should know it will take 2-5 years to get into a leadership position and make good money and you will have to recruit other members to your team in order to get to a leadership position.

Good luck!
