mandiant blocked browser question?

So I got hit with this: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/mandiant-us...ity-virus/ tonight while browsing. Browser in question is Chrome with AVG SafeGuard toolbar, tabbed browsing, Alienware laptop running Windows 8.1 64bit. According to that link, this is supposed to lock my screen, but all it did for me was lock the browser. Even then, as long as I didn't try to close the tab, I could use my other tabs just fine. It only locked when I tried to close the "Mandiant" tab.

I confirmed the rest of my computer worked as normal. It did not fill up my whole screen, and even when the tab locked the browser I was still able to use the rest of my computer as normal. I powered the laptop off/on with the power button, and when I turned it back on and logged in everything is operating fine, including Chrome. Since it didn't seem to have locked the computer itself and the browser was working okay, I skipped the System Restore step on the link provided and ran MalwareBytes and HitmanPro. Neither of them detected any threats or malicious software. I'm not tremendously savvy about this sort of thing myself, so my question is this: Since my computer did not lock and my browser is working fine, and MalwareBytes and HitmanPro didn't detect any malicious software, am I in the clear?
