Social media pros and cons?

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me 3 pros and 3 cons of how social media could affect people in particular?

Example of social media are Facebook, MySpace, Nexopia, and other social networking sites that may affect people's lives.

Pros: Keeping in contact with others, sharing interesting news, and I honestly can't think of one more pro.

Cons: Dealing with idiots, cyber bullying, and creepy messaging.

Pros: finding old friends and acquaintances, being able to post one message to all of your friends vs. calling or emailing each individually, sharing information (photos, etc) with people all over the world near instantaneously.

Cons: Stalkers, Pedophiles and Psychopaths use social messaging to locate or identify victims.
It also becomes an addiction for some people who get to the point of hardly being able to do anything without posting on twitter or other networks.
To much of False information, rumours, and hate messaging can become viral - post something to a handful of people, and before you know it, thousands of people have it. Like the case of the skinniest girl (who has a physical illness where she cannot gain weight): she found that someone had posted her name and picture on Youtube, with the heading "World's Ugliest Girl" and it had gone viral and had 4 million viewings. Or, cases of people committing Suicide due to Bullying using Social Media.
