What should I do? I'm so confused?

This weekend, I volunteered with a group of people I have never met at a homeless shelter serving and packaging food. There is one guy in particular who when I first met him, I could tell there was something different about him. I was his partner for all of the stuff we were doing at the shelter and we were laughing and singing along to the radio together the whole time. I have been thanking him for stuff he said and how he was so nice to me on Facebook, so we've been chatting some. I was only with him for about 4 hours, but I felt a strong connection. I can tell he cares about me and I care about him, but here's where I'm confused. I think I like him as more than friends. He shares my same values and religion, we like the same music, we both listen to each other, we both care about each other, we laugh at the same stuff. I don't know how to tell if he likes me back or not, and I would just become better friends with him first, but hes a grade ahead of me so I don't see him much if at all at school. I don't know what to do and I keep hoping he will ask one of the other kids from the volunteer group for my number and text me, but he hasn't. ANY REALISTIC AND NOT MEAN OR RUDE ADVICE IS APPRECIATED AND NEEDED. PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

The one thing that I have learned with my past experience is that time matters the most in everything. Whether it's studying or a relationship. Man up and ask the man for his number. Talk to him get to know him more and if you like him enough ask him out. I liked this guy once. I liked him alot. We chatted all night. Facebook, whatsapp. I got his number from a friend. But it took me too long to ask him. I was scared and couldn't decide whether to ask him out or not. We didn't talk for a while and when I finally manned up and asked him, he told me he had already gotten together with another girl. I was too late. Only a week late. I might have been together with him if I wasn't such a coward.
So don't be scared and make the first move yourself.

He may not realize how much You liked him., and just thought after the Shelter event, that was it . And he might not have asked anyone from the Shelter Volunteers if they had or could get Your number., out of Fear of being thought of as a Stalker..or something., it is really important to let people know how much You care so they will know how far to go., He was probably enjoying being with You as much as You were enjoying being with Him., You should see if someone knows how to Contact him., and when You find out Text Him or call Him and let him know all the things You said in Your Question.,I know He will Love it; Guys Love it when they make a good Impression and They "Super Love" it when They make a Good Connection .***
