so my ex boyfriend sent me a friend request?what should i do?

okay so long story short , my ex broke up with me 4 n half months back .it was just a month relationship .i cried and pleaded so he could come back .I blocked him from facebook and other social networks.he told me that he wants to be friends with me but i DO NOT WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH HIM because it will make a lot more tough for me . i still like him but do not want to come across as desperate .what should i do accept his request or just let it go .

idk what's in his mind ..but i can't be ''just friends'' with him ..it's just possible for me.please help
