I have a HUGE problem, i am an experienced artist and i have eBay account and i am so low on money so i decided to sell my drawings and better yet, i decided to draw portraits of the bidder. who ever wins the bid will be drawn, i need the money badly i put it for 1 cent and free shipping. its a great deal!! theres only 2 bids and its up to 6 cents now and that is nothing for me so if you have an ebay account can u at least put a dollar or tell people who wants to be drawn to get it going and put money? or if u have any ideas, that would be great too. thanks you so much

What you are describing, bid with no intention of winning, is illegal.

You should ALWAYS set the minimum bid at the lowest amount you want to be paid.

Try http://www.peopleperhour.com popular for artists who offer something to be done in a certain amount of time, for a particular price. Prices are low as it is competitive. But it's money!

Tell a family member to bid for you - to both up the bid and hopefully help you out should they end up winning.

Wouldn't it be easier to put an ad in Craigslist and create a website offering portraits?
Maybe ask a local store if you can set up an easel and offer this service?

THey might charge you a small vendor's fee or maybe they'll offer it free if it attracts business to their store. Art stores might be interested if you promote the stuff they sell there.

People are not looking on eBay for artwork, apparently. You might do better on Craigslist locally, and it is free. You will have to set a price, but you can show examples of your work.
