What are some popular traditions in music?
Rap Music: Jealous rappers shoot rappers with more talent than them.

Black Metal: Jealous untalented artists stab other untalented artists who are slightly less untalented than them.

Melodic Avant-Garde Doom Metal: Make up your own genre so your hipster fans can claim you are talented and tell people who think they suck that they "don't get it"

Rock Music: The less talented you are the more drugs you have to take to make the kids worship you.

Pop Music: Haters send threats over twitter to talented artists that they are jealous of.

What about the "27 Club"? Artists who died when they were 27 years old, including Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse just to name a few. The list is actually pretty long making it all the more creepy and mysterious.

Country singers sing about trucks, trailer hitches and beer. It is also tradition for deathcore or metalcore bands to say the words "Conscience" and "Reality" thirty times in each song. It is tradition for the grammy's to give out the award to the worst song on the album. It is tradition for artists to make a comeback album with no edge at all and still be praised and worshiped. It is tradition to make a big fuss over a band cause the singer died. Dead=Legacy. Alive=Not so much.

Rap - use of similes
Metal - use of spandex
Punk - use of mohawks
Vocal/Diva - cheesy romance songs
R&B - cheesy romance songs
Pop - the bridge (part of song between chorus and last stanza; this was more prominent in the 80's)
