When did campaigning obamacare start?

So I've been doing some research on Obamacare for school, and found out there was a social media campaign launched sometime in October 2013.. Wasn't the ACA proposed in 2009, or even earlier? I just need someone to straighten out the timeline for me, thankyou!

The ACA was signed in March of 2010. Much of it had been discussed by the Democrats even before Obama was in office in 2009. Here is a timeline to the provisions. Many were dropped along the way.
