I lost my wifi capability yesterday. No wireless indicator light, lost Fn+F8 hotkey (but all other keys were there), no connection at all. I was able to fix the connection by installing Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless Lan but the indicator light is still off. any suggestions how to bring back the indicator light?

Try reinstalling the chipset driver which probably includes drivers for your laptop's keyboard so that special keys will work again.
