I usually open a new tab that automatically goes to google but instead this shows up now.

p.s. my Norton expired if that has something to do with it

Change your internet browser setting.
For Chrome > Settings and change to Google.
For Explorer > ALT > Internet Options.

Also, make sure you uninstall anything that deals with it. Go to the start menu > type in Uninstall a Program and look for Search Conduit.

Also, you can get AVG. It's free ANTI VIRUS if you'd like. Hope that helps.

Hello,

Sorry for the trouble. I am Vineeth and I am from the Norton Support team.

Please run a scan using the free Norton Power Eraser tool and see if it detects and removes the threat: http://www.Norton.com/npe.

If you are using Internet Explorer, please try these steps:

These programs are commonly known as Potentially Unwanted Programs or PUPs and they get attached to your browser.

Go to Control Panel > Programs & Features and see whether there is an entry for this? If so, please uninstall it.

Open Internet Explorer and then click Tools > Manage Add-Ons. In the Manage Add-Ons window, disable the add-ons related Conduit. You may not see the exact name there, uninstall any new add-on listed there.

Now in the Manage Add-Ons window, on the left pane, click Search providers and then remove the Conduit entry and then select any of the search engines such as BING or Google and then click "Set as Default." Close the Manage Add-Ons window.

Open Internet Explorer again and then click Tools > Internet Options. On the General tab, under HomePage, remove the url listed in the box and then change it to http://www.Google.com or any site that you want to have as Homepage.

Exit Internet Explorer and re-open it again and see if it helps!

Thanks!

Vineeth
