Should I purchase the new iPhone or the Galaxy Note 2?
I'm getting a new phone in march and I'm not sure which to buy. Right now I have the iPhone 4. I wouldn't mind starting over with something new, but I'm not sure. I don't use my phone for gaming. I like it for things such a texting, checking my email, listening to music, and using things such as Facebook, twitter, and Instagram. I want a phone that has a lot of space because my iPhone only has 8gb and I've used up most of it. What phone would you recommend I buy?

note 2 definitely!
Android experience as well as good battery life with a bigger screen.
Iphone 5 simply sucks!

For the things you use your phone to do, the iPhone 5 would be a better choice. iOS apps are smoother and better developed than Android apps (I have seen many many reviews of both, plus owned both iPhone and Android phones). Android phones aren't as smooth as the iPhone. Androids have the tendency to crash or have bugs, lag, problems with widgets, etc.

I also have an iPhone 4 and I've used the iPhone 5 and I loved it. The experience is amazing and the screen seems so much bigger and you'll instantly recognize how much faster it is than the iPhone 4. The Galaxy Note 2 is too big for my taste and android phones don't have very good battery life.

If you are going to get a new phone in March I think you'd better put Xperia Z into consideration. However, as long as you don't use your phone for gaming I think you can also get a cheaper smartphone which is able to play 1080 videos. iOS offers more fluent and simpler ecosystem while android gives you more customization options and there are more free apps. My recomendation for you is iphone 4s because from your text it seems that it can fill your needs and still not rip off your pocket. But you already have iphone 4 so it wouldn't be a huge upgrade and iphone 5 is so expensive in my opinion. If you want to buy a superphone then Xperia Z and Galaxy Note 2 will be the best for you. Xperia Z is more compact and water-resistant(clean water not sea water and also less than one meter) and it has better camera and display while Galaxy Note 2 has better battery life and some unique features like S-pen and S-voice. You shouldn't buy your smartphone based on a question on yahoo answers. You'll get better result if you refer to several sources for example gsmarena.com is a good website about smartphones. You can also ask the people who have already used the phones. You have plenty of time until March so do more research and try to find which one is better for you because you are going to spend a few hundred dollars. I hope you'll find your right phone.

Buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 because
1.It is cheaper(this depends on where you live)
2.It is quicker (1.6 quad core processor vs a dual core processor
3.Microsd- you can expand the memory with a 64gb microsd. This a cheaper way to expand your memory and you can have a 16 gb note 2 and still have more storage than iphone 5 if you get a 64gb microsd.,
4.USB OTG- you can read usb keys no problem with an adapter so you can check out whats on them so you don't have to put your computer on.
5.Microusb charger- Better than the lighting connector as you can get them easily and cheaply but also you might have it from other devices as it is becoming standard for smartphones to use microusbh chargers.
6.Removable battery- This means you can replace the battery if you run out of charge when you are around unlike the iphone 5 which you have to charge or bring an external charger and charge it from there, however this is an akward way of charging your phone. Also the removable battery can help you prevent water damage as you can remove the battery if it falls in water, thus reducing the chances of water damage.
7.NFC- Want to transfer a music album quicker than bluetooth, well now you can with NFC. Yopu can also use Tectiles to make your life easier(check out this site to learn more about them http://www.samsung.com/us/microsite/tectile/ )
8. Customizable- Change launcher(Are you bored, get a new launcher that suits you and your personality), custom ROM your phone and have access to apps specifically made for rooted devices directly on the play store. You control the device so that it suits you.
9. Dropbox- Love cloud storage well Samsung is offering 50gb free of charge to Note 2 owners for 2 years on Dropbox. Backup music, video, photos(this can be done automatically), documents etc. Who doesn’t want this amount of free cloud storage?(You have to complete a certain amount of steps to get the free storage but none requires any credit card details or anything to complicated) (N.B Not everyone will be offered this bonus as carriers have own to have stopped Samsung from offering this to customers).
10.Screen- It is amazing and enourmous(yes this is an advantage). Yes it has less ppi(267ppi Note 2 vs 326ppi iphone 5) however if you compare it to the ipads ppi(264 ppi) which everyone says is amazing you understand than you barely see the difference in ppi, butt you can see the difference in colours as the amoled display is has amazing colours. The big screen is also an advantage as it as you can do so much more with it, multitask for example, I wrote this whole review using my Note 2 with a keboard and mouse connected via usb which shows that the screen is big enough to work on no problem unlike the iphone5s screen. I also found no problems when using one hand, and I have medium hands if not small hands, If you are going to type Samsung included a feature that allows you to make the keyboard smaller so you can use one hand without a problem.
11. LED indicator- A small LED onh the top of your device shows what notifications you got by distinguishing them with colours(For example blue for email, green for charged) This means you can see what the notification was about without putting your screen on. It is extremely useful feature for those than hate wasting time.
12. Android features-Widgets, live wallpapers, Google Now and all the beauty of android.
13. Samsung added features-
A.Smartstay- won't turn thye screen off if you are still looking at it,
B. Lock screen apps- launch apps directly from your lock screen so once you have unlocked your phone it launches the app directly.
C. Multitasking- watch videos while online, write an email while watching a video, send a message while surfing the web, you can split the screen in two so you can multitask without a bother.
D.Notification bar- Better notification bar then the iphones as you can toggle your setting without lauchiung the settings app.
E. Etc- I could go on for days but you get the idea.
14.S-pen -adds functionality to your phone, write handwritten notes, sign pdfs, make a work of art, its all possible with the s-pen which is miles more advanced than any stylus for the iphone. There are so many features on the Note 2 based on the use on the s-pen all for you to find out, check Samsungs Youtube channel to dicover more or follow them on Google + to find out mopre features based on the use of the s-pen.
15. Durability- The Note 2 does not suffer from scratches like the iphone 5 where the back of the phone is aluminium and scratches really easy, the Note 2 does not suffer this fate.
