Can you get to the normal internet through Tor, or is it an entirely separate list of websites?
Like can you get to Google, YouTube and other normal sites, or does it send you right to stuff like Hidden Wiki all the time?
Also, can Tor be turned on and off after you download it, or are you stuck with it on all the time?

Not for anything illegal, but because who wants some NSA creep monitoring what you do all the time?
“TOR does not allow their IP addresses to be used for torrenting or other illegal activities. They are watching you.”
I’m against the illegal activities through it, but just read some from the Wikipedia pages on tor and hidden wiki, and you can see this statement is false. Otherwise, though, it was helpful.

TOR works by bypassing your connection through their servers. You get a different IP address and you could surf the internet through their networks. Basically a VPN. You can watch videos and visit regular websites but consider that their connection is quite slow.

TOR does not allow their IP addresses to be used for torrenting or other illegal activities. They are watching you.

TOR can be turned on and off at any time

You are far behind to claim your privacy. You can no longer fight whether information of you is collected or not. What you need to fight now is that how that collected information is used.

IF you are using TOR for downloading torrents, you shouldnt. i found it unrealiable. Try cloudload.com instead. its cloud storage, but on steroids. All the torrents are downloaded by their servers and then stored in the cloud.. super anonymous, and you can stream your downloads!
