What to expect for AT&T internet installation?

I recently signed up for the elite internet $34.95/mo through AT&T. The lady on the phone mentioned the installation would take anywhere from 2-4 hours. So I'm wondering, what does the installation include that takes so long? Kind of worried because I live in a studio apartment that used to be a 2 bdrm but was sectioned off & now the bedrooms are rooms in another apartment. Will any wiring need to be done in those rooms? Or just the room I'm setting my desktop up in?
