State Farm claims adjuster question?
I know a couple of the TC are with State Farm. My mother-in-Law was killed in an horrific car accident last week. I am only claiming on the PIP portion of the policy for now. I have talked to around a dozen different people in claims over the week. Every one of them was extremely insensitive to the situation. One continually giggled during the phone call. One called me 24 hours after I made the claim and asked me how she was doing. She was DOA on the scene and that was fully documented. One had to have a receipt for the funeral because he said funerals cost anywhere from a couple of hundred dollars to a couple of thousand dollars and I had to prove that it was over the $5000 I was entitled to. My funeral director's mouth dropped open on that one. One told me the same kind of accident had happened to her cousin. NO IT HADN'T. This was a freak accident that was like lightning striking. And truthfully right now I don't care or want to hear what happened to anyone else. I'm really just venting, but anyone who can answer what type of sensitivity training the claims people have, I would really appreciate. Here is the accident:

Thanks for the answers. If you only knew that I am the most un-technology minded person!!! Answering here is the extent of my "social media". I have a flip phone!! I barely know what twitter is and I've never been on Facebook. The whole situation is frustrating & could have been made a lot easier. I know they paid the claim today. I'll look into a customer service address to write them when I'm up to doing that. For now I'm just trying to do as much as I can for my husband & father-in-law.

You write to the CEO/PRESIDENT of the insurance company.....and tell them!!! Also tell them you're taking this to Social Media and the local TV stations if you don't hear what you want!!! The last thing an insurance company wants is bad publicity. Google the name and email of the CEO/President of that insurance company. No answer....go on a Media Blitz....That's what I'd do. Sorry for your loss.

I'm not with them, but I do work for one of their competitors. And if my company had found us being so callous and insensitive, we'd be in the unemployment line the next day.
See if they have a Twitter page, and make your feelings known there. Facebook, too.
And, write the company. They need to know that handling claims is more than just processing information and paperwork.

I'm sorry about your mom-in-law, Debbie. You're a nice lady and I'm sorry you're being treated poorly.

I'm sorry about your Mother-in-law .
Only the involved insurance companies can, do and will find fault (liability) for this or for any accident. It seems to me that the semi will be found liable by the involved insurance companies but you need to be speaking with your Mother in laws insurer and allow them and their lawyers handle this. If you don't think it is being handled correctly, then you should speak with a lawyer
