That is true but, it isn't that big of a deal. The only problem I have is that I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials for virus protection and that will no longer get updated. I'm looking for some cheap virus protection alternatives right now.

Unfortunately yes Microsoft is discontinuing their support for Windows XP. You HAVE to upgrade but it is very recommended due to security updates. The only OS that is available right now is Windows 8 so a new computer might be the only option.

No, its just a marketing sham to get people on 8.1 what you need to so is wait until it 'goes out of date' then visit and most dodgy and virus ridden sites you can find.
