Help can i get a virus from this site?

So, being the curious 16 year old that I am, I was on 4chan and I was on the /f/ fourm or something its a flash fourm. me and my friend were laughing at the ridiculous adult flash vidoes that people posted on there. We clicked on a few of the files and it would open another tab and would instantly play the flash video on the new tab. Im just wondering if just openeing these tabs from the flash video can give me a virus? Im on a mac. Does anyone know what im talking about to?

Hi,

If you were on Windows, your system might have got infected with what is known as adware and malware. It's not exactly a virus, but in general words you can call it so.
Since you are on a Mac, it's safe.
