What's the fascination with Facebook?

It's a site that pretty much allows you to be disconnected from everyone, but interested in what they had for lunch. If that doesn't make you a flaming queer I don't know what will. It's almost as bad as Twitter on the 'how lame am i' scale. I probably still have an account, but after like two days of using it I felt like I was dying inside, and worse, becoming a loser.
It doesn't sound yet like I'll get any kind of intelligible answer. I wonder if 'Uncle' or 'abraXus' bothered to read more than half a sentence? 'Uncle', your response is funny considering you troll Yahoo! Answers looking to give silly responses, and abraXus, simply because you add random girls and spend all your time on Facebook doesn't mean we all should.
