Is the FaceBook "dislike" button a scam?

One of my friends just put up a notification saying that she had "activated" the "dislike" button on FB. I don't know if it's like a scam or something, and I'm worried I'll get a virus. Can somebody tell me if it's real or a scam?

I think it is a scam. I tried it, and it's been hours since and still nothing has happened. I doubt it would be a virus though; the way applications for Facebook are built, that wouldn't be easy.

I just got done activating it, and it just changed my entire facebook language to Italian. Now I can't read anything

Yes, it is Spam, but it does not contain viruses at this time. If any of them do contain virus the Facebook Developers will create fixes to the problems. For the one whose language is italian, try signing on to a different computer, if it does the same thing, send me a message.

It's not a virus but it is a scam. If you noticed they all say as one of their steps to "Invite freinds" so they could become popular. It doens't really work. They haven't activated it yet and I highly doubt they will becuase it might hurt people's feelings. Having a "Like" button is enough.
