My mom says Go Go Nihon doesn't need my passport and that they're a scam?
I'm trying to go to a language school in Japan. I asked if I could get a copy of my passport t email to them since it says they need it in the e-mail. She says the whole website/service is a scam,"they don't need the passport only the airport would, la la la talking ****", while I try to explain to her it isn't she of course doesn't listen. Is there anyone with experience or knows someone with experience with go go nihon or immigration to another country? It'd be really helpful.

Go Go Nihon has be around for about 5 years. They seem legit to me. They are a business that helps you find a school in Japan.

I think this might help to convince her:

http://forum.gaijinpot.com/forum/living-...o-go-nihon
Gaijinpot.com is a popular online forum that a lot of foreigners going to Japan/in Japan use.
They are talking about the legitimacy of Go Go Nihon on this thread, and a handful of them had personal experience and have used it with good results. The rest of the thread talk about other people who have contacted the site and searched around online and have only seen good things about it.

They even have a facebook and youtube page. Most scammers will not go to the extent of making such social media. How in the world will they get all these people on their videos to fake it? And why would they show their faces in a video if it was a scam? On their facebook page is above 14,000 likes. That means 14,000 REAL people have used the program/are about to use the program and are signs of legitimacy.

Also, with the internet in this age, if you type a name of a company (such as Go Go Nihon) into google, if it is a scam then it would usually have many websites come up on the search saying so. Since it has nobody saying that it's a scam, then it's pretty legit.

However, I have come across this review on youtube about Go Go Nihon that seems to talk about some of the downside of the service and how it's important to do your own research as well when you sign up for it.

She also has another video talking about the whole process of Go Go Nihon.
I think this girl probably didn't do enough outside research about living in Japan, and that's the only reason why she might've been slightly disappointed by this service.

You might even want to personally contact other people that has used this (such as on the Go Go NIhon facebook wall) to ask any further questions.
