Maybe, maybe not - who can say? take a chance, don't take a chance - it's your money, your gamble.

Without actually knowing exactly which website you are on about it would be hard to say.

You could use a WhoIs search tool like the one provided by Internic
http://www.internic.net/whois.html (.com domain names)
http://www.nominet.org.uk/whois (.uk domain names)

That will tell you the name and address of who owns the domain name (sometimes it might be a host with their own whois server that you need to go through to get the address)

If the name and address on the whois site matches with the information they provide on their website then it might be a bit more safer, but even that doesn't guarantee anything.

Also if your paying them through paypal that might make things a little bit more safer, you might not be guaranteed by paypal but at least if you've gone through a genuine Paypal page then they haven't got your bank details (of course if it's a fake paypal page then they've got your paypal login details!).

It's risky and no guarantee and also if they're from abroad you might not have any come back under trading standards (even if they're from the UK there might be no come back).

All merchant website should have a phone number at the top of the page. Call the number and see are you actually dealing with a legitimate business.

Here are some other things that you should check for...

* Privacy Policy
* Return Policy
* Shipping Information

If you have called and checked out all of this information and you still feel uneasy about making a purchase on the website. Just look for the item elsewhere.

Hope this helps you!

Here are some of the
