Is Netflix better than Amazon Prime?
I got a Kindle Fire in September and signed up for the Amazon Prime and so far I have never had a problem with it-I use prime for watching movies and tv shows. Just recently I started watching the television show Lost and got halfway through season 3. Now amazon says I have to purchase the remaining episodes. Well I paid the yearly membership. So why would I have to pay money to watch tv shows? Is Netflix the same where you have to pay for the monthly membership and pay something extra to watch the tv show?
TY I will probably let Prime run the rest of the year then not renew. I don't do much more with Prime except for the videos

Amazon Prime only offers LIMITED content from the Amazon Instant library for free. They're actually two separate services (Amazon Prime actually includes a lot more than the streaming service, as I'm sure you know). Even if you're subscribed to Prime, there will be things you have to pay for on Instant because they're not eligible for Prime. Usually it will be newer content, but that's not always the case.

Personally, I prefer Netflix, becuase I know exactly what I'm getting. I pay the subscription and I have access to their entire library. You never pay extra (unless you want to add a DVD by mail plan to your account) With Amazon, I would only have free access to the Prime-flagged items in their library... not the entire Amazon Instant library (but, on the other hand, Amazon Instant gets newer shows and movies a lot sooner than Netflix does, so it's kind of a trade off).

You might also want to look at Hulu Plus. It's subscription structure is the same as Netflix, but it's more focused on newer TV shows (whereas Netflix is primarily movies and older TV).

Short answer, Yes.....
Amazon sucks compared to Netflix.
Their streaming can't keep up like Netflix can. To much buffering.

I have both and personally, I prefer Amazon. But having both allows me to see things on e one service that the other may not offer. I've found that Amazon seems to include newer TV series seasons faster than Netflix in many cases. I also get better performance from the Amazon streaming than Netflix streaming, but that may vary depending on your geographic location.
