why cant i download pictures from facebook?
my browser is google chrome.

the problem is : when i'm downloading pictures from facebook the file save in my computer as webp file(instead of jpg or png for example). this file type(.webp) can be open only by the browser(I get an error messge if trying to open it with the windows picture viewer).

this problem is only seen in the browser "google crhom" and only when trying to download pictures from the site "Facebook".

here is a pic so you can understand me better : http://s7.postimg.org/jwevnbtxn/image.png

p.s
even if I try to save as type (All file) in the end of the download the file still typing as webp and the windows picture viewer could not open it.

This Happens sometimes in the New Picture Layout Go Back to the Old Picture Layout By hitting F5 On your Key Board Than Once the Picture Loads In A different Layout than Right Click and you Should be Able to Save it as a Regular Image

WebP is a new image compression technology designed to make images such as JPEG and PNG smaller, therefore load more quickly in browsers. Google invented the technology, so it makes sense that it would be included in Chrome.

It's possible that Facebook may have silently converted all of their images to the new format without telling anyone. If you right-click and save pictures from Facebook, Chrome will automatically default to the .webp format and you cannot change it.

Google does, however, offer a free codec to view those images in Windows Picture Viewer. You can find it here: https://developers.google.com/speed/webp...webp_codec

You can also right-click and save files without issue in Internet Explorer.
