is a website on wordpress user friendly?

designed for someone who's really bad with computers and technical things?
i tried having a website on wix, and it was very hard to change text in a page that already published, or add a page. how easy is a wordpress website?
and what if i get a free web on wordpress and free domain, and then sell cats food from my web? maybe because it's a free website, they dont allow anyone to make money on it, to use it for selling purpose? i'm not talking about placing ads, because i dont even want to place ads. it's never been my intention, just sell something off the web, that's all.

If you'd like to sell something online through a website, you'll need to get a hosting account, your own domain name and then install a platform like WordPress. WordPress is VERY user-friendly once you get it set up. The trouble with most people is that they do not have the technical skills to build the website themselves. You do have to pay wordpress.com an upgrade fee to go commercial, Google's Blogger.com is less particular about what you do with the site, their somewhat simpler blog platform is probably as easy to use.

Blogs in general are some of the easiest to use, you do have to take time to learn the basics, wordpress is hugely popular and has tons of tutorials available as well as paid and free themes and plugins.

Don't bother to try making a sales site using a free subdomain name, bite the bullet and invest the $12 a year for a domain name or use a specialty ecommere host.

This takes you back to the principles of marketing. Knowing what your users want and giving it to them on your website in an easy to understand, findable way. Wordpress is a platform and it can be used badly or well. It does give you a good start in the direction of user friendliness but understanding the user and the technology and matching them right is key.

It is best to own your website rather than place it on a 3rd party platform. It's the harder option, but the freedom that comes with it means you have more flexibility in your design which in turn means more scope for user friendliness.
