Why have my total visits number on Squidoo and hops count on Clickbank gone down?

I noticed today that my Squidoo total visits number went down. I also had the same problem with my total hop count on Clickbank a few days ago. Why would I have a similar issue on both sites? It doesn't make any sense, the only way the numbers should change is when they go up from people visiting. Someone please help!

It's hard to tell from here, if your Clickbank traffic comes from your Squidoo page, than it's just conforming the problem there.

Historically Squidoo has taken traffic hots from the Google Panda quality filter, perhaps a year ago.

Beyond monitoring the traffic, you ideally would be tracking your search ranking for important keywords, there are limited free tools that can automatically go through a list of keywords. There could be a new player who has pushed your page down in the search results.

If one experiences a sudden drop in search ranking,. it's a good practice to look for a drop in search referral traffic in your server logs that coincides with the date of one of the updates you can find in this calendar of algorithm changes.

To maintain better control get out of Squidoo and make your own site with a domain name you control. Squidoo would just be one of many traffic sources to your own hub site.
