Managing innovation in facebook?

How has Facebook evolved from nothing to a multimillion dollar organisation and how does it manage innovation creativity? I get Myspace but facebook??

A lot of internet business is dependant on perception and as Facebook has a large number of users, the idea is that it is worth a great deal of money. This is false, as a lot of sites involving advertising clicks will tell you, but it is like art or religion - as long as a large number of people believe that it is worth a lot, then it is.
