Is this ebay job offer a scam?
Recieved the following email 'job proposal' and was wondering if it is a scam? I figure it is but would like other's opinions about it. Thanks!!

I'm pleased to offer you a position as a seller assistant to
help me run our sales on eBay . The part time job will take up
1-2 hours a day and you may receive up to $400 per week after a short trial
period.

Our requirements: Strong organizational, communication skills, entry level of Excel.

Please contact me if you have some experience in handling customer support .

Cordially Yours,
Ali-express team
Here are the short steps of our work:
1) I send you the list of items and terms.
2) You log into YOUR eBay account and list those items.
3) As soon as item is sold, buyer send payment to YOUR PayPal account.
4) You email me his shipping address.
5) I ship product to buyer directly from the U.S. warehouse.
6) As soon as item is shipped, I email you tracking number.
7) Buyer receive his product.
8) You pay eBay/PP fees from buyer's money.
9) You send 70 percent of net amount to our supplier and take 30 percent. We cover transfer fee.

For example you've sold 5 items for a $500 total.
Then you pay eBay/PP fees (approximately 15 percent = $75). Net amount is $425. $127.50 are yours. $297.50 will be transferred to us.
As you can see, you pay all fees from buyer's money.

This online job will take about 1-2 hours per day any time.

Your part of job:
- Create eBay listings according to my instructions.
- Email shipping addresses to me.
- Enter tracking numbers for each transaction
- Send money to supplier.
- Answer simple questions from buyers and forward hard questions to me.

My part of job:
- Ship orders to buyers. It takes 2-5 business days usually.
- Send tracking info to you.
- Answer important questions from buyers.
- Answer your e-mails each day except Sunday.

We have about 5000 products available for sale from different categories (toys, electronics, houseware, cookware, etc.). I can't manage all sales myself. That's why I'm looking for assistants, at this moment I supervise about 50 remote sellers.

We may sell 30-40 items per week and make good profit for both of us! Price range for our items is between $25-$350.

It is legal.
Here is the information from eBay regarding dropshipping:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/product_sourcing.html

You will transfer money for shipped items only!
We have to send all products to receive money from you. Your perfect reputation is our primary goal.

SHORT TRIAL: I will send you 7 test items to list..
Please let me know if you are ready to start, so I will send you all technical details (prices, terms, requirements etc.)

Investments are NOT needed to sell with us.

It sounds like a scam to me. Why would they want you to do it when they can do it themselves and pocket all the profit? I bet their second email will hit you up for money.

Well although it sounds plausible there are a few things to consider

YOU are taking all the risks on YOUR ebay account with dropshipping
Your reputation is in the hands of the dropshippers quality of product and speed of shipping
YOUR buyers may not know they are buying an import and could get hit with Customs fees AND have to wait weeks for it to arrive
Ali Baba/China goods are renowned for being knock-offs and poor quality
The buyer would not be happy if it was defective/fake and WHERE would they ship it too- if abroad very costly

This seems to me like a banned ebay seller as it would be more profitable for them to employ someone to do the listings for them in their home country

Take the 7 items, sell them and keep the money yourself. No one hires you without an interview but these people are in Nigeria so unless you are there, there is no real job.

Although Product Sourcing through eBay is legal, eBay gives you a warning on the bottom of the page. Read the link in the ad you posted here.

eBay: "If you sell using a product sourcer, remember that you never see the actual item, so it's important to make sure you're dealing with a reliable company. We recommend working with an eBay Certified Provider. Remember that you're always responsible for the item until it reaches the buyer in good condition."

Yes it's a scam. You do not know the company. Do not let anyone use your accounts. Don't set up any accounts for them. Don't ever agree to handle purchases and sales through you. You can check the eBay list of eBay Certified Providers. However, I doubt this company is on that list. Their ad shows several features of scam artists.
* They promise high pay for very few hours of work.
* They want to use your accounts instead of their own.
* You buy product using your account. You ship it, using your money.
* They promise to pay you back. (They often don't.) Or they promise to send you a check and ask you to cash it. (It's often a bad check.)
* You are out the money.

Legitimate businesses don't usually need a 3rd party to set up an account for them, and filter their money. They be able to have financial networks set up where they want to do business.

Please DO NOT do business with them.

Please read the following, just one of many sites outlining typical job scams:
https://www.privacyrights.org/avoiding-online-job-scams

I'm glad to see that you asked questions before you went further and got stuck with bad checks, purchases and shipments through your PayPal account, without reimbursement from this phony company.
