How do I 100% clear my internet history?

I've tried to clear all my history and browser bar at top still shows it.
Thing is, I've been on some dodgy sites like hookup sites etc and my girlfriend is due home in an hour.
Please help. I may have to actually break my computer or fake a burglary.

Install "ccleaner" (and run it)

If use Internet Explorer go to Gear Wheel top right hand corner click it and click Internet Options and under General Go down and Tick Box To Clear History On Closing IE then click Apply and OK. Then all history will be removed when close IE.

and after running that
to clean (to zero) all the unused /deleted file space
a program called disk-redactor

then no one can 'recover' the data again
(using forensic tools - that companies etc have !)

and lastly,
you might want to then defragment your disk (disk properties -> tools -> defragment) to shuffle the now clean bits around
