Why does the BBC get away with mentioning it has a Facebook page if Faceboo is a money-making entity?

I thought the BBC did not allow advertising.
Yes, of course Facebook makes money from the BBC having a page and directing viewers to it. The question is WHY is BBC allowed to mention Facebook at all? Ads |

I don't know, maybe they get a backhander from Facebook for promoting them like they do with the EU.

They aren't showing adverts for Facebook, any more than they advertised the Sunday Times when its journalists uncovered the Thalidomide scandal. Seeing as most sports events have advertising displayed using your argument they couldn't show them either or even show a London bus. The BBC is a money making entity itself but isn't sponsored by adverts.
