Default search engine always changes to Ask?

I use Google Chrome, and despite going into settings and changing Google to my default search engine, it will always change back to Ask when reopened. I have removed any extensions to do with the search engine but this seems not to have helped. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this??

Yes go to control panel - add remove software and remove the ASK toolbar from your computer.

The query seems to disable the toolbar or replace it with google or any other toolbar so go to settings> options and tools and disable by right click upon icon of ask toolbar or reinstall after uninstalling and disable the check box in the browser when the software license agreement appears or before and vice-versa!
