Why are people so horrible on this site?

There are horrible people everywhere,but on the internet it comes out because they can hide behind their computers.

This is a site where you play a game to make judgements and you get to chose what answer is best. I have become semi-addicted to it, but I am aware, after asking my own questions, that you have to filter out expertise and BS, and that too is kinda fun. I have run my own internal demographic of who I think the people are who answer questions and I'm guessing its a lot of 14 year old girls

I would say that, on the whole, Yahoo Answers is mild compared to a lot of sites out there. If you need an example just go to Yahoo News and check out the comments there. Along with gazillions of misspelled words and the overuse of IMese, there seems to be many attempts to bring out the heavy artillery at the most minor disagreement. Maybe it mirrors society at large as, at least in the US, more and more arguments and minor beefs are "solved" with gunfire. Too, there is the element that people can be whatever they want to be on the internet and sometimes I just think it would be nice to have a picture of those people who respond with extreme responses so that we may all be entertained.

As for your observation that there are people who think that they know more than others, in a way that is a non-issue on Yahoo Answers because, after all, are not users who ask questions soliciting expertise? But you are right, it is indeed in the delivery of the answers that one makes the choice to be condescending or not.

It's the internet. I say the best thing to do is go on Youtube and look at the comments on popular videos. That's where true horrible people are.

Well don't go to Snog.com because there are lots of very horrible people that don't have a life who say very mean stuff to you and insult you very badly and will try to put you down a lot.

After i got that abuse i decided to delete my account, NEVER go on snog.com again it was getting too much for me after just 1 DAY and it putted me down a lot. !

But now i am better and moved on from that VERY SHIT site.
