I don't think so. If your website is .co.uk then it will get a higher ranking on Google's uk website, but it will lower on .com and the other regions.in terms of where in the world its hosted, I don't believe it will matter as long as its .co.uk. I'm sorry you had that idiot spammer on your question, did the same to mine as well.

Hi Peter,

The host location may not be a big factor but it sure does help. If you are debating hosting in UK or where you are, I suggest hosting in UK. In the past, Google determines whether your website is targeting UK audience based on the hosting location but things changed now since the ccTLD (.co.uk) will tell them so; however, the hosting location will play a role. It confirms to Google that your website is meant for people in UK.

Once again, not a big factor but it still helps.

Hope this answer will help you decide what to do.

Google should be able to cope with recognising your site is UK oriented from other factors rather than just the hosting location. However I always play it safe by using UK web hosting anyway.

Yes. Mainly because if it is hosted elsewhere it will be slower and that is one of the 200 metrics google uses to rank a website. Best of luck
