Who can I get to advertise on my website?

I already have a site. I just need some advertisers so I can keep it running.
Is there anything I have to do to get those ads up?

Yes - you can sign up for Google AdSense or BuySellAds.

Having enough traffic is key to making meaningful ad revenue, I don't think Adsense has min traffic requirements to qualify, you need a certain amount of quality content and up to 6 months of site age, depending on your country. You do need perhaps 10,000 visitors to reach the $1000 min Adsense payout.

Some say running non ads until you build up site traffic is the wiser long term plan. Ads are minor obstacles to getting a large following.

You may sign up for advertising programs like Google AdSense. But, getting approved for AdSense is not that easy.

You may try alternative networks like- Clicksor, Kontera, Infolinks, Bidvertiser, Infinityads etc.
