What to do when android phone is stolen?
My phone was stolen from me today (i'm sure its not lost cause it was taken away from me) and i didnt have any security apps or so for this kind of thing. I'm really worried about the thief getting to my personal stuff/ or even logging into my accs (how creepy is that). How can i stop him from that? if i change a password for facebook for example, will it still let him get on my acc through the phone? or what else can i do?? i heard its possible to erase all phone data but i guess thats impossible if i didnt have an app installed for it beforehand? if it matters at all ik that he removed the sim card (cant phone anymore).

id be super thankful for any answers!!
ill go to my provider or whatever that's called and get them to close it off or what not Wink hope it works. thanks again everyone!

all phones have permanent data erase function, it is in the settings. you dont need an app for it, but related to it, you probably have no way of getting it back now, unless you call your number, unless he changed the sim card, then youre outta luck

Assuming your phone is still connected to the Internet, try installing this last resort app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...labs.planb
And follow its instructions.

If he took out the sim. he probably erased everything off the phone to use for himself. but that's just a guess. why don't you call your service provider and report it missing. maybe they can track it?

If you have a pass code on your phone, don't worry too much since they can't get through your phone immediately without hacking it. If your SIM is still in there you might have a chance, if not there's no way to track it, but lets just say they didn't remove the SIM What you should do right now is immediately go change all your account passwords that are logged in with your phone, like facebook, your email, banking etc, there should be a option allow you to log you out of other devices once the password is change. Since you don't have any security apps on there, you can try PLAN B, PLAN B you can remotely install the app on it. Try to find the phone using PLAN B. If you didn't find your phone, contact your carrier for a lost/stolen phone to disconnect its service or log on to your carrier's account and disconnect it. Once its disconnected, the phone service will be bricked (will not be able to activate the phone under someone else, unless the phone is found by the owner and remove from the lost/stolen list).

Heres a video on stolen android phone, i hope this helps and hope you're able to get your phone back!

Does it have anything the like the "find my iphone"? That allows you to open any browser and remotely locate, wipe or even put a msg on the screen that can never be removed.
