Would you recommend the HTC Wildfire S?

I have a blackberry at the moment and I'm sick of it, it freezes constantly. I really want the iPhone but it's a bit out of my budget at the moment, I'm not due an upgrade until January 2013. My friend decreased her contract to £15 a month then paid it all off and started a new contract on an iPhone, but she only had a few months left so if I am going to do that I'm better to wait until at least after summer or even until I can just upgrade normally.
For the time being I want a phone where I can access Facebook/Twitter etc on 3G. I also want an apps market. I was watching a HTC as their app market is better than blackberrys and it has many of the apps that iPhones have! However, when I looked they're all about £400 and I really don't want to be spending that. I'm only a student and I need to save every penny I get! So I was considering the Wildfire S, it's the cheapest HTC and surely it's got to be better than my blackberry? Can anyone tell me if it's any good and whether it will be decent enough to last me for a good few months until I can upgrade. Thanks
