instagram won't message me the security code to my phone?

instagram want to give them my phone number so I did but they never send me no text message

The exact same thing happened to me on my band account, I've submitted my number multiple times but still no texts have come through, I thought maybe it could be a wifi problem but it's not. I really wouldn't like to delete my account though so yeah, this isn't really an answer but just a I don't even know but we both have the same problem.
