Why can't i see my wall posts posted on my birth date?

I had gone out of station on my birthday, which is on 1st june.. I checked my Facebook account 9 days after my birthday to reply to my birthday wall posts and stuff. But i only saw 15 or 16 of them. At first i thought maybe only some of them posted on my timeline so i didn't actually care about it then, but when i asked some of my close friends who didn't post on my timeline on my birthday that did they forgot about my birthday or something, they were all like no! we did post on your timeline! go check your timeline! But i tried to check everything but still was unable to see the posts. What can be the reason? Can you please tell me, what possibly i can do to solve it? Even if i can't solve it, i just want to know what the reason is that i couldn't see my wall posts.

Either your friends lied to you, or they deleted the posts they did
Facebook does not loose any posts. You can always check your mail for further confirmation if you have the default mail-settings.
