What does no referring link mean?

I have a tumblr blog with two types of hit counters that note the location of visitors. I noticed I was getting a hit at least once a day from the same IP address in the same city in Australia. I created an account on statcounter.com and found that this IP address is viewing my blog with no referring link. What does this mean? Does it mean they have my blog set as their homepage or a page that pops up with their browser?

I'm just trying to get insight because this person has been running up my hit counter for months and I can't figure out what he or she is doing on my blog so much.

It means exactly what it says: the link did not come from a webpage.

It could be a bookmark, it could be a directly typed URL, it could be a bot, etc. etc.
