Facebook following question?

I accidentally unfollowed a facebook friend (Not a person that made it available for anyone to follow them, an actual facebook friend that got followed automatically). If I re-follow him, will he get a notification or otherwise be able to tell? I doubt it but I'm not sure. Please only answer if you actually know.
