Of course changing domian would have a negative impact on website SERP and you may lose ranking. While changing new domain you have to do the correct 301 redirection using .htaaccess file, all your pages will redirect to the new domain and your site's PR should be passed on to the new domain.
BUT still there are few chances that your website will be put into the sandbox. Good luck Ads |

Hi Ali,
By changing your domain name it will affect your SERP ranking. First, it is because your old domain name has been around longer and that affects ranking. Furthermore, your old domain probably got some backlinks. How to fix this, you can place a 301 redirect in all your pages on the on domain name and redirect them to similar pages on your new domain name. 301 redirect is the best option to use to fix this. Although 301 redirect don't transfer ALL your link juice and factors to the new domain, but it will transfer majority. 97%-99%? Here are a few articles that may help with redirecting your site and understanding 301 redirects. http://www.mktdojo.com/what-is-301-and-302-redirect http://www.mktdojo.com/matt-cutts-discus...ect-limits Hope this helps! |
